Bob Parsons

Bob Parsons (born 1950) is the President and CEO of Go Daddy and Wild West Domains. Parsons was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. In 1969 he did a tour of Vietnam with the United States Marine Corps serving as a rifleman. Parsons holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Baltimore.

He founded Parsons Technology, Inc. in 1984 and sold the 1000 employee company to Intuit in 1996.

Controversy

Parsons has had a hand in several controversies. During Super Bowl XXXIX, Go Daddy aired a commercial depicting an attractive and scantily-clad woman experiencing a "wardrobe malfunction", making light of the previous year's controversy. The ad was scheduled to run twice, but the second airing was pulled by FOX at the complaints of NFL officials. Go Daddy reached a settlement with Fox soon thereafter.

In June 2005, Parsons posted in his blog that he condoned the controversial treatment of prisoners at Guantanamo Bay. [1] Following feedback in the comments section of the post, he retracted his statements. [2]
