Bob O. Evans
Computer scientist Bob O. Evans (19 August,1927 – 2 September, 2004) led IBM's 1960's development of a new class of mainframe computers—the famous System/360 line—helping keep the company in the commercial lead as a large-scale data-processing power.
In 1995, Evans received the National Medal of Technology for his work on the S/360, which was the first family of computers compatible with each other across the whole range, and whose descendants are still used. The IEEE Computer Society awarded Evans a Computer Pioneer Award in 1991.
In 1985, President Ronald Reagan awarded him with the National Medal of Technology for his work on the System/360.
