Bill Hilf
Bill Hilf is best known for his work at Microsoft. Until 2006, Hilf served as Directory of Technology Platform Strategy, managing the Microsoft Open Source Software Technology Analysis Center. He has since been promoted to General Manager of Platform Strategy at Microsoft.
Drawing on his background from IBM's Emerging and Competitive Markets group [1], where he led IBM's Linux technical strategy, Hilf's contributions to Microsoft have largely centered around products which are competitive to the Microsoft Windows operating system. These efforts involved Hilf speaking at events such as LinuxWorld on topics which are of interest to users of the GNU/Linux operating system or Open Source community (for example, Monad [2]).
