Allan Zeman
Allan Zeman (盛智文) GBS JP is a Germany-born Jewish businessman doing business in Hong Kong. He is known as Father of Lan Kwai Fong.
Allan Zeman grew up in Montreal, Canada. He started working at 10 and worked for a fashion company at 19. As he frequently travelled to Hong Kong for work in the 1970s, he soon fell in love with the city in and moved to Hong Kong in 1975.
He felt that Hong Kong had no western restaurant that suit his needs. In 1980s, he started a restaurant in Lan Kwai Fong, a narrow street in Central. Later, Lan Kwai Fong developed to become one of the most important bar and night life district in Hong Kong.
In 2004, Allan Zeman become the chairman of Ocean Park as invited by the then-Chief Executive of Hong Kong Tung Chee-hwa. He managed to make the park more attractive even after the opening of Hong Kong Disneyland.
