Alexander Walker II
Sir Alexander Walker (1869-1950) was grandson of John 'Johnnie' Walker. He and his brother, George Paterson Walker, took the control of the company after their father's death in 1889.
Alexander was who developed Red Label™. He was a great blender and an astute businessman and a forceful spokesman for the industry as a whole. He became known as the Colossus of the whisky Industry.
Sir Alexander was knighted in 1920 and retired in 1940.
